AWOKEN

The Visual Artworks of
TSUMNU/DOS HERMANO/
AMANDA SHAW AKA THE ART OF JOY

ASLEEP IN A DREAM, DREAMING THAT YOUR STILL AWAKE

"Once upon a canvas, in the realm of 'Awoken,' three visionary artists came together, each having traversed their own winding paths through the corridors of existence. Tsumnu, the enigmatic wanderer of the subconscious; 'The Art of Joy,' aka Amanda Shaw, who crafted beauty from the ashes of adversity; and Dos Hermano, the shamanic weaver of memories past and present, joined forces in an extraordinary exhibition.

In 'Awoken,' slumber was but a distant memory, a realm where dreams no longer held sway. These artists, like seasoned travelers through the labyrinthine landscapes of emotion and endurance, had emerged as vigilant sentinels of their own realities. It was a journey that mirrored the profound shift in perspective and perception that the viewers were invited to experience.

Beneath the surface, a clandestine undercurrent hinted at the artists' past exploration of altered states—whispering tales of hallucinogenic dabblings that had perhaps contributed to their unique perspectives. Yet, this secret remained just below the surface, a tantalizing mystery hidden within their artistry.

'Awoken' was more than an exhibition; it was an opportunity to shed the cocoon of slumber and delve into the profound awakening of the senses, an odyssey that mirrored the transformative power of art in the hands of these three extraordinary creators."

Art of Joy aka Amanda Joy Shaw-

"The Art of Joy," also known as Amanda Joy Shaw, is a gifted artist renowned for her exquisite metallic creations. Her portfolio features captivating metallic roses and intricate metal floral designs that display her exceptional craftsmanship. In a poignant and deeply meaningful exhibit, she incorporates charred wood fragments salvaged from the devastating Northern California fires, a tribute to the resilience of both nature and the human spirit, as she herself was affected by these fires.

In addition to her metal floral artistry, Amanda Joy Shaw also demonstrates her talent in crafting stunning jewelry. Her pieces, meticulously handcrafted from brass, copper, and silver, are a testament to her skill and creativity. Through her art, she not only captures the beauty of nature but also weaves a story of hope and transformation, making her a remarkable and empathetic artist in the face of adversity.

Dos Hermano-

The artist known as 2hermano specializes in acrylic and aerosol painting. Their creative process is dedicated to acting as a conduit for inspiration from the ethereal realm, translating it onto canvas. 2hermano's artistic vision harmonizes the spiritual and physical worlds, drawing inspiration from indigenous and pre-Hispanic traditions, particularly their Raramuri (Tarahumara) heritage. This results in artwork that serves as a bridge between past and present, leaving imprints of primal memories.

Their work captures the allure of beauty and seduction but is fundamentally rooted in healing and aesthetics. 2hermano's art is a mesmerizing tapestry of shapes and colors that reflects humanity's interconnectedness with the cosmos. Through subtle symbolism, it stirs dormant memories within viewers, evoking emotions of serenity, love, joy, and wonder. Their artistic style is a synthesis of various influences, delving into the often overlooked connections between hermetic wisdom and the marginalized history of indigenous cultures.
